Usage of Shopify Customer Data

At Galactic Apps, Inc., our handling of Shopify customer data is guided by strict principles of privacy and data protection. This data is pivotal for providing valuable insights to merchants on their advertising campaigns, which in turn assists in the growth and scaling of their businesses.

Data Processing and Minimization

We process only the minimum amount of personal data necessary from Shopify to deliver our services effectively. This includes hashed values of customer data such as phone numbers, email addresses, first and last names, and potentially address information. The purpose of processing this data is solely to attribute ad campaigns to the appropriate customers.

Consent and Compliance

In alignment with our data protection and privacy commitments, we have established robust agreements with our merchants regarding the handling of customer data. We respect and adhere to the consent decisions made by customers, particularly in relation to opting out of data selling or automated decision-making processes.

Data Security and Storage

The integrity and security of customer data are paramount. All data is hashed before it is transmitted to our servers, ensuring enhanced protection. We adhere to stringent data retention policies, ensuring that personal data is not kept longer than necessary and is encrypted both at rest and in transit.

Purpose-Limited Use

The usage of Shopify customer data is restricted to its intended purpose – to enable effective ad attribution. We do not sell, share, or utilize this data for any other reasons. Our use of this data is strictly confined to transmitting hashed customer information to ad platforms connected to the merchant's store, such as through server-side integrations with platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Google, and Snapchat.

This focused approach to data use ensures that we provide our merchants with the most accurate and valuable insights for their advertising strategies, while upholding our commitment to privacy and data protection.

Changes to Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, so please review it regularly. Your continued use of our services after changes have been made signifies your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
